We run four pharmacies in the Boston area. Competition is intense. Our mission is to provide outstanding service for every customer.
We do this by creating a great working environment for our team. Specifically we are always looking for ways to reduce operating costs and errors, simplify tedious but low value tasks for the team, and streamline customer service workflows.
To free up staff for higher value clinical and customer service tasks, we had already automated one location with robotic fill for our fast movers. Next we identified will call and Day 10/Day 14 return to stock processes as the next two most important areas to improve.
Our goal was to develop a robust, inexpensive, and flexible system that our team could quickly get up and running at each location. We wanted to hit a total cost of ownership at or below our current yearly labor costs to generate a return on investment within about a year. We did not want the added complexity, cost, or security risk of integrating with our existing pharmacy system.
The result is SimpLED.
